The middle position Custom Flat RWRP for Stratocaster uses the same flat hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and special high-output coil winding as the standard version, but is made reverse wound/reverse polarity to provide noiseless operation when combined with the neck or bridge pickups in positions 2 and 4. On its own, it will give you the same balanced, beefed up, and punchy tone as the standard wound model.
